Lorde has turned out in backing of US pop star Kesha whose legitimate offer to be liberated from an agreement which required she work with her alleged rapist failed.
Kesha, 28, wailed in a New York City court on Friday as a judge conveyed her decision in the most recent section of her long-running legitimate question with the music maker Dr Luke.
Kesha had battled to wrest her profession far from the Dr Luke who she asserts medicated, sexually mishandled and mentally tormented her.
In the most recent administering, a supreme court judge declined to discard her agreement for now.
Lorde tweeted her support for Kesha only moments after the decision went public.
Broadcaster Alison Mau also posted in support of #FreeKesha, retweeting comment from prominent Kiwi feminist Twitters @Ani_archy and @someofmybest.
"Standing with @KeshaRose through this traumatic, deeply unfair time," Lorde tweeted. "Send good vibes her way everyone."
The judges' verdict does not mean the end of the dispute for Kesha.
Hollywood Reporter said Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Shirley Kornreich heard arguments that Dr Luke had invested US$60 million (NZ$90m) in Kesha's career, and that Sony had offered to allow Kesha to record with other producers.
