Snapdeal on Friday responded to a First Information Report (FIR) lodged by the Mumbai Police against the e-commerce major for allegedly violating Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) norms by selling medicines including prescription drugs online.

"Upon being notified of any such products, we delist the products and take appropriate action against such seller. In this matter, we are assisting the FDA team in this investigation and we will continue to do so," a statement released by the company said.

"We have already delisted the products and said sellers and also stopped payment, in addition to providing all information to the FDA team as required by them," it said. Maharashtra's Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) had ordered the filing of the FIR against Snapdeal.com's CEO Kunal Bahl and directors of the company in the case.


Last month, the FDA had raided the company's premises in Mumbai in this regard. At that time, Snapdeal had said it was delisting the drugs from its portal and was assisting the regulator in the investigation.

The FDA had earlier issued a notice to the company and it was asked to furnish details of the drugs offered for sale, distribution and exhibited for sale on its website Snapdeal.com. The raid followed FDA receiving information that various medicines, including prescription drugs, were being sold online through Snapdeal.com.

As per the law, only a licensed retailer can sell drugs, and that too on the basis of prescription of a doctor, Kamble said, adding such type of online sale of drugs is not allowed as self medication can be harmful.

Sara Tendulkar is not joining in Film Industry!!!

"My daughter Sara is enjoying her academic pursuits. Annoyed at all the baseless speculation about her joining films," Tendulkar posted on Twitter on Monday.

Rumours are rife that Sara, 17, would be making her Bollywood debut opposite Shahid Kapoor in an upcoming movie.

Meanwhile, Sachin has been excited about his own film debut, reported IANS.

In March, the master blaster invited his fans to suggest the title for his biopic, conceived by Mumbai-based production company 200 Not Out in co-ordination with World Sports Group, the firm that manages Brand Sachin.

The movie, to be directed by London-based writer-filmmaker James Erskine, promises "never seen before facets and footage" on the cricket legend.

Apart from his presence in the movie, Tendulkar is said to be making a lot of contribution to the project, which will capture his phenomenal rise in the world of cricket.

Jonty Rhodes names newborn daughter INDIA!!!

Former South Africa cricketer Jonty Rhodes, now the fielding coach of Mumbai Indians, was blessed with a baby girl, after his partner gave birth at a hospital in Santacruz, Mumbai on Thursday afternoon.

Rhodes is currently the coach of the Mumbai Indians IPL team, and so we guess it's pretty fitting that his daughter was born in the city!Jonty Rhodes. Reuters image.

Zee News reports that the couple have now decided to name the girl India Jeanne Jonty Rhodes.

According to this Deccan Chronicle report, the baby, born in Surya Mother and Child Care Hospital in Santacruz west, in the midst of IPL, is a water baby. The couple have been preparing for a water birth for a while

Water births are not as common in India, but recommended by doctors around the globe because it is a way more natural way of childbirth and is also less painful for the mother.

''Birthing in water is considered to be one of the most beneficial options for a woman and her baby. It creates a naturally calm and peaceful atmosphere and allows the freedom of movement and pain release,'' said Dr Avasthi, from the Surya Mother and Child Care hospital, in a Times of India report.
