KUALA LUMPUR: Two bits of new garbage have been found in the Maldives and specialists will figure out whether they are connected to missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370, said Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai (pix).
He said one was a "honeycomb material" while the other had a level surface.
"It is little, about the extent of your hand," he said when requested that clarify on the new finding on Sunday.
"The primary thing we need to do is to figure out whether it is really of plane material," Liow said including that the disclosure was made two days back.
"Our group here will affirm on the off chance that they fit in with a plane and if an affirmation is made, the pieces will be sent to the worldwide examination group to figure out whether they are from MH370," he said.
Liow included that the check by the Malaysian group ought not take long.
Flight MH370, with 227 travelers and 12 group individuals, left KL International Airport on March 8, and vanished from radar around an hour later. It was to have touched base in Beijing at 6.30am around the same time.
The Boeing 777 flying machine has yet to be discovered even after a thorough inquiry in the southern Indian Ocean where it is accepted to have gone down in the wake of veering off base.
